Watch for our plant sale at the beginning of October!
Planning is essential!
Let's be prepared
Dear Gardeners,
We are thankful that our rainy season has been fairly calm so far. The Steering Committee is taking care of the Community Garden and Gardener Dave is watering the sweet potatoes. Gardeners are reminded to weed the 6-inch border around their beds. Beds should be weeded, maintained, and free of objects that can be projectiles in severe weather. Calls will be placed to those who are not in compliance. Tomato cages that aren't secured in beds will be moved to our community pile. We are in the middle of hurricane season. We all need to be vigilant about flying objects.
Our seedlings have sprouted! Your steering committee has been busy planting seeds. There are kale, tomatoes, eggplant, Swiss chard, collards, cauliflower, broccoli, hot and sweet peppers, and garlic chives. We are planning on having a plant sale at the beginning of October. Soil will be available at that time as well, it's a great time to start panting. Watch for more information in the coming month.
I can't wait to get my hands in the dirt and plant!
