WORK – Volunteer at Lakes Park

Volunteers are the very backbone of our ability to carry out the Foundation’s mission. We call our volunteers “Lakes Park Ambassadors” because of their tendency to share their passion and knowledge with park visitors.

Individuals wishing to volunteer at Lakes Park should first visit the official Lee County Parks & Recreation Volunteer Services website and fill out an application.

We’re also eager to work with organizations such as schools, businesses, youth groups, and religious organizations seeking community service opportunities. EMAIL US for more information.

Volunteers in the Lakes Park Botanic Garden on Thanksgiving Day

Garden
Ambassadors

They like plants.

They enjoy cultivating the gardens, propagating and selling new plants, learning from one another, and leading garden tours.

    Information Ambassadors

    They like people.

    They enjoy talking to people and providing park and Foundation information at the Nest and at the Farmer’s Market.

      Scarecrows
      Ambassadors

      They like Halloween.

      They help run the voting process at Scarecrows in the Park. Costumes optional (but highly encouraged!).

        Tour Guide Ambassadors

        They like tour-guiding.

        They know the gardens and the park! They lead on-foot tours of the gardens for plant lovers, or EZ Rider golf cart tours that make it easier to to get around the park’s 279 acres.

          StoryTime in the Garden Ambassadors

          They like children.

          They read, lead garden activities, and do craft projects with the pre-school set and their caregivers in the Children’s Garden

            Birding in Lakes Regional Park Fort Myers Florida

            Lee County Bird Patrol Ambassadors

            They like birding.

            They offer walking tours of the park year-round, count and report on bird populations, and know where all the cool birds hang out.
