Volunteers needed for Lakes Park Botanic Garden tours

The Lakes Park Enrichment Foundation seeks volunteer candidates to lead tours of the Botanic Garden at Lakes Park. A team of three or more are desired to lead the tour on alternate months.

Duties:  

Lead garden strolling tours in Botanic Garden; Fragrance, Succulent, Water, Community, Children’s, and Tropical Fruit gardens.

Qualifications: 

  • Registered Lee County Volunteer

  • Advanced knowledge of plants – ideal for Master Gardener or Master Naturalist

  • Be able to identify the flowers found on the Lake Park What’s in Bloom poster.

Training: 

  • Orientation provided by foundation botanist.

Commitment Expected: 

  • Second Saturday morning of each month and special event days.

Equipment needed: 

  • Foundation brochures, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.

Physical requirements: 

  • Ability to walk/stand for up to 90 minutes

Minimum age: 18
