Plant sale at the Lakes Park Fragrance Garden!

Volunteers at the Lakes Park Fragrance Garden held a successful plant sale on March 28th. Plant  sales have been made possible by the generosity of park patrons like you. Donations were received to provide the Fragrance Garden propagation area with a much-needed makeover. Now we are seeing the return on that investment.

“Propagation” is defined as “the breeding of specimens of a plant or animal by natural processes from the parent stock”.

Our volunteer gardeners have been enthusiastically propagating plants commonly found in the Fragrance Garden. These plants are sold at once-monthly plant sales, held on the last Wednesday from 9:00 am to noon during season (October through April).

Propagation efforts had been hampered by the poor condition of our old tables. Damages caused by Hurricane Irma further interfered with these efforts.  We’d like to thank everyone who donated to make the new propagation tables possible. We’re back in business, earning funds through plant sales. These funds will help to support the further beautification of our gardens. Many, MANY thanks to our patrons for their donations!
