Fort Myers, FL, Feb. 3, 2017 — The Lee County Library System, Lee County Parks & Recreation and the Lakes Park Enrichment Foundation have partnered for a StoryWalk® for people of all ages set to open Saturday, Feb. 11. Follow along the picture book “Plants Can’t Sit Still” as you explore the new Children’s Garden at Lakes Park. Free ice cream will be provided for the first 30 children who complete the walk.

Lakes Regional Park is a Lee County Parks & Recreation facility located in south Lee County at 7330 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33908. The StoryWalk® is open to the public during regular park hours. The Children’s Garden is located near Parking Lot 3. Directions and park information are online at www.leeparks.org. The parking fee is $1 per hour or $5 per day for each car. The park is open every day.

Participants will be following the picture book “Plants Can’t Sit Still” by Rebecca E. Hirsch, illustrated by Mia Posada and published by Millbrook Press. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition (VBPC) Kellogg Hubbard Library.
