Lakes Park Fragrance Garden fountain restored

The serenity of the Fragrance Garden at Lakes Park has been enhanced by the return of the fountain! It is located in the pond near the propagation sheds.

Sr Parks & Rec Program Specialist Ross Becker and a team of dedicated volunteers have completed the first step. They have cleaned up the pond and repaired the water feature.

Next steps include selection of plants such as the American Lotus to populate the pond. We’ll also restore the plantings surrounding the pond.

Once the pond restoration project is completed, this spot is sure to become a favorite for photographers, or those simply seeking to enjoy the peace.

Bravo, volunteers!

ATTENTION: DO YOU ENJOY WORKING OUTSIDE? Or do you have a green thumb?   Join us in the Fragrance Garden!

Now that the high season in Southwest Florida is drawing to a close, many of our volunteers will be returning to their homes in the north.  If you are interested in helping to maintain the Fragrance Garden over the summer, here’s how you can help:

  • CLICK HERE to register as a Lee County Volunteer – everyone who volunteers at Lakes Park must be registered as a Lee County Volunteer. Just click the link to find and submit your application.

  • Adults, “VolunTeens”, students, youth organizations, community outreach teams – all are welcome!
