Community Garden Food Harvest for March 6th, 2018

Community Garden volunteer Bill Johnson writes:

“We made our seventh Community Cooperative donation today 3/06/18. We donated 106 lbs. of can goods, dried foods and produce giving us a new total of 746 lbs. for the 2018 growing season. Again a very nice job.

Thanks to the following garden bed numbers for their kind donations (13, 17, 33, 38, 39, 40, 42, 44, 55, 57, 59, 61, 65, 67 & 69).

Special thanks to friends Jim Dubyak and Norm Smith for giving up their time to help me harvest today. Thanks to my wife Jo for helping with weighing and delivering the produce.”

The Community Garden at Lakes Regional Park routinely harvests and donates freshly-picked food to the Community Cooperative here in Fort Myers. They also collected canned and dry food for donation.  From the Community Cooperative’s website: “The mission of Community Cooperative is to eliminate hunger and homelessness in Lee County while simultaneously inspiring and supporting sustained positive change in its clients by delivering innovative food, education and social service programs.”
