Halloween Fun with Lakes Park’s Volunteers
Our Lakes Park Ambassadors really get into the spirit of Halloween fun. This year was no exception!
“Volunteering at the polls” was a popular assignment for Scarecrows in the Park, a free attraction at the Lakes Park Fall Festival. This year, more than 14,000 votes were cast in the People’s Choice competition, exceeding 2018’s vote count by more than 3,000. We credit our volunteer Scarecrows Ambassadors with encouraging the crowds to get out there and vote! Here they are, hard at work… or is it play? You decide!

NOT TO BE OUTDONE, the Community Garden demonstrated the spirit of the Fall Festival with a little decorative Halloween fun of their own. The Steering Committee hosted a “Plant Your Garden Day” event on October 5th for all returning and new Community Gardeners. It was a fun day with new soil and compost, new veggie babies for sale, and lots of helping hands and coaching for those new to the experience. Check out the fun!
