Fun with the Lakes Park Garden Ambassadors

Thanksgiving Day

Volunteers in the Lakes Park Botanic Garden on Thanksgiving Day
Thursdays are work days in the Lakes Park Botanic Garden. Our Lakes Park Ambassadors didn’t let a little thing like Thanksgiving stop them from showing up for duty! Here are Jane, Kathy, and Jeanette, for whom we are truly thankful!

Lakes Park Ambassador “Welcome Back” Brunch

The Lakes Park Ambassador "Welcome Back" Brunch was held on December 5th at the park.

Our second annual Lakes Park Ambassador “Welcome Back” Brunch was held on Thursday December 5th, 2019. The event was co-hosted by Parks & Rec staff, and Foundation members. Both local and returning “snowbird” volunteers attended. Many thanks to the team for creating a festive event for our Lakes Park Ambassador volunteers.  CLICK FOR PHOTO ALBUM ON FACEBOOK – Feel free to tag yourselves!

Community Garden Donates Food

Harvesting produce in the Community Garden at Lakes Park
The Lakes Park Ambassadors in the Community Garden harvested food for donation to the Community Cooperative soup kitchen on November 29th and again on December 13th.

Collecting produce for the Community Cooperative
In addition to fresh produce from our Community Garden at Lakes Park, gardeners donate canned food as well.

Our next Community Cooperative donation will be December 31st.

Please help the food pantry! Donate canned or boxed goods and fresh produce.

We leave by 10:00 AM to bring donations to the Community Cooperative

Gardeners have the opportunity to rent a bed at the Community Garden at Lakes Park
The Community Garden at Lakes Park is completely rented at this time. From time to time, beds can become available during the growing season. If you want to add your name to the notification list and learn more about the Community Garden, please visit http://bit.ly/LakesParkCommunityGarden
