A brisk Saturday morning stroll in the park

We’re all in love with the Botanic Garden at Lakes Park, as well as the playground and the Train Museum. But the less-roamed areas of the park are full of natural beauty and idyllic scenery. On a recent chilly Saturday morning, I took a stroll through the woods near the Summerlin Road entrance, and then headed across the causeway and up the filter marsh trail. The skies were full of drama, the birds and tortoises and lizards were hiding someplace warm, and not a single butterfly braved the cold. But more than 11,000 steps were logged on my Fitbit, and I returned to civilization feeing renewed and energized.

Selected scenes from my walk are posted on our Instagram account. I hope it inspires you and your family to take a long stroll in our beautiful park one morning, too. Happy viewing! – Erin White, Executive Director
